Client-Server technology is used to
implement internet services. In a client-server
system, client software issues requests to server
software which then carries out the request and
returns the response. For instance, in bringing up
this web page for viewing, when you clicked on the
link your client, the browser software on your PC,
requested that the Meteor Technologies web server
retrieve this page from its file system and download
it to your PC for viewing. The server carried out the
request, and a short while later, the page appeared
on your screen. Other internet capabilities work in a
similar manner.
